In the 1960's Ger began collecting with her grandma Julia in Chicago. Her grandparents were immigrants from Poland and they lost much during the depression, even though they both stayed employed, grandpa as a tailor and grandma as a seamstress, it was often difficult on them and their two small daughters. As a result her grandma became quite skilled at scouting out treasures at rummage sales and thrift shops.
She taught this skill to Ger. Their favorite hunting ground was at St. Vincent Depaul's White Elephant on Lincoln Avenue. Today Ger is rarely in Chicago but if she is, you will find her at the White elephant. Sharon was born and raised in Lexington. Her career focus has always been centered around the financial end of business, most recently the manager of auditing services for the judicial branch of government.
In 1999 she joined Geralyn in her antique adventure by selling with her at the Angliana Antique Show. Sharon's mother Patsy encouraged Sharon and Ger to open their own shop "Feather Your Nest" in 2001.

We typically buy and consign items from the 1970's or earlier on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
It may be possible to bring items in on Friday's from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM or on Sunday's from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM but you must call first to see if Geralyn or Betty are in the store during those times.
