Wiswall House is an old fashioned, single owner shop, established in 1975. The shop is located on a tree lined, country road in Durham, NH. We stock two barns to the rafters with a wide variety of American furniture, vintage lighting, mirrors, pottery, fireplace equipment, and decorative accessories, in a warm & friendly atmosphere. We enjoy personal contact with our customers and will do our very best to help you find your hearts desire.

Services
The first time someone buys a sampler/motto, they usually have no intention of collecting, but they do become addictive.
One person may buy as many verses with "cottages" as she can find, then another person might collect "Colonial ladies", and yet another, all "black and white.".
There are so many different ways to arrange and display them.
Once you have one, you need three, then five, then seven, and all of a sudden you are surrounded with these charming thoughts and messages.

In addition to our furniture and lighting we have many accessories for your home and even your workshop!
Items include dishes, glassware, and pots; tablecloths, aprons, and vintage clothing; bookends, doorstops, paintings and prints, mirrors and rugs.
Hundreds of frames, old tools, and outdoor gear like snowshoes.
We can't possibly list them all here so bring a coat in case it is cool and come browse our shop!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fragility and unpredictable replacement value, we prefer not to ship ceramics.

Peacock Items - one small round porcelain covered box with Peacock design on top, Van Briggle Lamp with Peacock tail flowing down lamp, and a hand embroidered table runner with embroidered Peacocks.
We have dozens of country or formal table dressings: crocheted, hand embroidered, or damask in linen, cotton, silk and velvet.
You'll find rugs, paisley shawls, lace curtains, and beautifully crocheted bedspreads among many other items.
Note: Be sure to measure your table before you come so we can find the right table covering for you.
The crazy quilts shown below are made of silk and velvet, with ornamental and feather stitching separating the pieces.
A couple are dated, some are not.
One or two have minor fabric damage on a block or two.
Pewter and cast iron cookware (including Erie, Griswald, Wagner), brass & copper tea kettles, and cook pots, fireplace tools, cranes, fenders, screens, trivets and more.
As long as there have been doors there have been doorstops.
Early on they may have been a convenient rock or piece of furniture, but in the 19th and early 20th centuries, doorstops were manufactured as decorative items for the home.
Generally cast in iron, they are avidly sought after by today's collectors.
